Bunbury Catholic College

Bunbury Catholic College is a Catholic high school for young men and women from Year 7 to 12. The college comes from the Marist and Mercy orders and formed after the amalgamation of St Francis Xavier’s College (Marist Brothers) and St Josephs College (Mercy Sisters) in 1973.
The college caters for around 1000 students on a large campus in Bunbury.
In 2015, a second campus was built in the nearby town of Australind. This campus is commonly known as the Mercy campus. This name is derivative of the Sisters of Mercy, who co-founded to school. Australind is approximately 20 minutes drive away from the original campus in Bunbury, which is still occupied. The Australind campus is not finished, and building is still currently occurring. Construction is planned to continue for many years to come, as to cater for the growing number of enrollments. The Australind campus was built to accommodate the influx of students that live in rural surrounding areas, such as Harvey, Brunswick, Benger, and Collie, but were too far away to travel every day to Bunbury to attend school.
==History==

The Bishop of Bunbury mandated the administration of Bunbury Catholic College to the Catholic Education Commission in 1973. The college
developed from the amalgamation of St Francis Xavier College (Marist Brothers) and St Joseph’s School (Mercy Sisters). The Commission fosters
the continuous development and improvement of Catholic schools, acts on behalf of the Catholic community and determines major policy.
